Billionaires’ Row, explained

The supertall residential towers around 57th Street, and the buildings where Gavin has sold.

Billionaires' Row is the informal name for a group of ultra-luxury residential skyscrapers, and the surrounding area, near the southern end of Central Park in Midtown Manhattan. The core of Billionaires' Row runs along West 57th Street between Sixth and Eighth Avenues, but the term is also commonly applied to nearby supertall condominium towers on Central Park South, Park Avenue and West 53rd Street. The wave began with One57 at 157 West 57th Street, completed in 2014, and continued with 432 Park Avenue (2015), 220 Central Park South (2019), 53 West 53 (2020), Central Park Tower (2020) and 111 West 57th Street, also known as Steinway Tower (2022). Central Park Tower, at 1,550 feet, is described as the tallest primarily residential building in the world, while 111 West 57th Street is noted for its extremely slender profile. The towers have produced several of the most expensive home sales in the United States, including Ken Griffin's $238 million purchase at 220 Central Park South in January 2019 and Michael Dell's $100.47 million penthouse at One57, which closed in 2014.
